Boom/Receptacle Components & Verification Methods
Addresses boom and receptacle interfaces, components, performance and verification practices.
Joint Standardization Board
Seven concurrent working groups bring together the people who design, operate, maintain and approve aerial refueling systems.
Seven dedicated groups
Addresses boom and receptacle interfaces, components, performance and verification practices.
Advances probe-and-drogue compatibility, component performance and verification methods.
Improves the visual systems, markings and lighting that support safe rendezvous and refueling.
Focuses on maintenance, sustainment and the ground equipment needed to support reliable operations.
Develops orderly clearance processes, interface-data standards and compatibility assessment guidance.
Aligns shared system requirements with meaningful, repeatable verification methods.
Examines emerging automation and the standards required for future interoperable capability.
Clearance challenge
Coalition operations require technical and operational compatibility, efficient training, manageable maintenance and workable fiscal and legal arrangements between tanker and receiver operators.
ARSAG’s clearance work defines minimum interface data and coordinates the overall clearance process. The STDS collects the information needed to demonstrate compatibility and support tanker/receiver clearance assessments.
