Foundational authority

ARSAG Charter.

The scope, authority and objective guiding the Aerial Refueling Systems Advisory Group.

Scope

A single inter-service and international advisory body.

ARSAG is a joint military-industry professional organization formed to provide a single inter-service and international agency to advise on aerial refueling system matters. It coordinates and advises on the resolution of existing tanker and receiver system deficiencies and the development and implementation of improvements. Its efforts assist engineering, development, testing, support and operating agencies without usurping the authority of any agency, organization or country.

Authority

Chartered for formation and operation.

Approval of the Charter provides authority for the formation and operation of ARSAG. ARSAG is formally chartered by the Department of Defense as the DoD Joint Standardization Board for Aerial Refueling Systems, as prescribed by DoD 4140.24-M.

Objective

Performance, cost, compatibility and safety.

ARSAG seeks to influence achievement of the most favorable balance of performance and cost in aerial refueling systems, resulting in the highest degree of compatibility, capability, interoperability and safety across the total tanker and receiver fleets.
